The portrait, Chateau de Versilles, portrays the Palace of Versailles. It was painted by Pierre Patel. In the painting you can see a beautiful palace with trees, gardens, and pools around it. You can also see many magnificent horse and beautiful horse drawn carriages. It seems as if someone important has arrived. The palace’s land looks like it goes on forever. There is also buildings between the Palace and the hills which probably housed people of the higher class. The beauty and vastness of the castle shows how wealthy King Louis XIV must have been. The great wealth and vast area also prove he must have conquered a lot of land.
